A Different Kind of Colorado Mug
There are coffee mugs, beer mugs, Moscow Mule mugs, camping mugs, ceramic mugs, tin mugs, travel mugs... the list goes on. People drink espresso out of mugs; They serve soup in mugs; Some people even pot plants in mugs; So a mug is a mug, right?
We at 1876 Apparel say no. Just how much different can a mug be than any other mug? For our debut item for the new luxury 1876 Lodgepole line, we set out to answer that question. And, we think we nailed it.
The new Lodgepole Mug is unlike anything else you've ever seen. It's made of chef-grade stainless steel, brushed to a satin finish and emblazoned with the iconic Lodgepole symbol on one side and the 1876 State of Exploration logo on the other.
Quite simply, it looks like no other mug you’ve seen, equally at home on your corner office desk as on the coffee table at your favorite Colorado mountain getaway. But, that’s not enough to call a mug “magical”, and this mug is magical.
It may not look like the bulky insulated mugs you’ve seen before, but it features double-wall vacuum sealed technology that keeps your hot drinks hot, and cold drinks cold, for up to three times as long as a typical mug. Its 14oz capacity means you can fit an entire beer in it, and still have room for a proper frothy head.
And it’s rugged… really rugged. The stainless steel construction includes a fully welded handle, which means that drops may add some character, but this vessel is almost incapable of breaking.
What Makes This a "Colorado" Mug?
We pride ourselves on how the Colorado Flag and its symbolism are the driving forces behind our designs, but at the same time, that we go beyond the basic design to drill down to the true essence of Colorado. That's why you'll find the Lodgepole Pine on all of the 1876 Lodgepole Collection items.
This sophisticated mug goes beyond the obvious, well-used Colorado designs, so whether you keep a few of these in your bar at your Aspen retreat for Mules, store them in your cabinets at home for coffee, or carry them with you into the great western wilderness, you'll always have an item that truly represents The State of Exploration.
Can This Colorado Mug Really be That Magical?
In short: Yes. This mug is magical. Why?
The Lodgepole Mug defies the traditional. It’s incredibly good at what it does - keeping hot beverages hot and cold beverages cold for three times as long as any of its counterparts - but it doesn’t have the traditional bulk and clunkiness of existing insulated mugs.
Its stainless steel design is completely streamlined and sophisticated, and while it looks at home with your delicate wine glasses and Champagne flutes, it’s tough enough to handle drops, falls, and spills with grace and minimal damage.
So can a mug be magical? Yes. This one can.
